hi! i'm kim.

I am so honored you are here.

It is my utmost goal with KT Mountain Studio to connect people to place. To give you permission to slow down and seek solace in the small rituals of life.

Art has been with me for as long as I can remember. With some of my earliest childhood memories being of painting, drawing or creating in solitude. While my adult life has taken me on many adventures and journey’s, I found myself always being drawn back to creation.

With both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Natural Science, I believe I have a story to tell. One that includes the importance of our connection to place, understanding the intricacies of ecosystems and the value of slowing down to observe the world around us. You will see this woven throughout my work.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being apart of this journey!

Values of KT Mountain studio

Sustainability

Sustainability

It is one of my utmost goals to reduce our environmental impact. Ways we are doing this include:

  • Carbon offset shipping
  • Reducing plastic in shipping and packaging well possible (and using rPET when we must).
  • Choosing manufacturing partners and products that have sustainability built in. For example using PCW paper and FSC paper for our stationery goods.

Conscious Manufacturing

Conscious Manufacturing

When I transitioned from hand making every product to working with manufacturers I wanted to do it intentionally. I choose manufacturing partners who meet at least one of these:

  • Small businesses
  • North America based
  • Environmental impact and worker rights

And all create a quality product!

mountain manifesto

Dear Friend,

Welcome to the community of KT mountain studio. Where these pieces are meant to be a catalyst for you to care deeply about the world around you, both natural and human.

I invite you to the open seat at the table where home baked bread just came out of the oven and harvest soup is being served. A community that invokes stories of recent adventures and shares in life's joys and turmoils.

Just as equally, this product is an opportunity for you to breath. To seek solace in your morning cup of warmth and make observations of the slow seasonal changes happening around you. To take note of the sun's place in the sky and the daily habits of the migrating birds.

Come sit with me, with yourself, and the world around you. Let us dream under western skies.

much love, kim
